Confidentiality Policy
This version of the Global Business Week Confidentiality Policy has been approved by WORLD EDUCATION, SCIENCE AND INNOVATION ORGANISATION LIMITED (“WESIO”) by internal resolution dated September 01, 2025. 

This Confidentiality Policy is published on the official Global Business Week website at  https://gbw.forum-expo.org/Confidentiality_Policy/  and constitutes the official current version from the date of its publication, unless WESIO expressly states another effective date.

This Confidentiality Policy (the “Policy”) applies to Global Business Week (“GBW”), organised by WESIO.


1. General provisions and scope of application
1.1. This Policy sets out the rules for the protection of confidential information in connection with GBW.

1.2. This Policy is a public GBW document and forms part of the applicable GBW documents. It applies together with the Public Offer Agreement for Participation in Global Business Week, the Code of Conduct, the Personal Data Processing Policy, media notices, registration forms, application forms and any other official documents, notices or instructions issued or made available by WESIO.

1.3. This Policy applies to Clients, Participants, applicants, speakers, sponsors, partners, exhibitors, investors, startups, media representatives, contractors, suppliers, guests and any other persons who receive, access, create, discuss or disclose confidential information in connection with GBW.

1.4. By joining the terms of participation in GBW, submitting an application, completing a registration form, questionnaire or other GBW form, paying an invoice, providing information to WESIO or continuing to interact with GBW, the relevant person confirms that they have read, understood and accepted this Policy and agrees that confidential information may be used, processed and disclosed by WESIO in accordance with this Policy, the applicable GBW documents and applicable law.

2. Confidential information
2.1. Confidential information means any non-public information relating to WESIO, GBW, Clients, Participants, applicants, speakers, sponsors, partners, exhibitors, investors, startups, media representatives, contractors or other persons connected with GBW.

2.2. Confidential information may include, in particular, applications, project descriptions, presentations, proposals, business plans, commercial terms, sponsorship terms, investment discussions, partnership discussions, meeting arrangements, participant information, contact details, financial information, technical information, know-how, internal documents, security information and any information marked or reasonably understood as confidential.

2.3. Confidential information does not include information that is publicly available without breach of this Policy, lawfully received from a third party without confidentiality restrictions, independently developed without use of confidential information, or required to be disclosed by law.

3. Confidentiality obligations
3.1. Any person who receives or accesses confidential information in connection with GBW must keep such information confidential and must not use, copy, record, publish, disclose, distribute or exploit it except for the permitted purpose connected with GBW.

3.2. Confidential information may be shared only where necessary for a legitimate GBW-related purpose and only with persons who are subject to confidentiality obligations or other appropriate restrictions.

3.3. Participation in GBW, access to meetings, introductions, business matching, programmes, applications or materials does not grant any right to use another person’s confidential information, intellectual property, business materials, contacts or commercial opportunities outside the permitted GBW-related purpose.

3.4. WESIO may use, process and disclose confidential information to the extent necessary or reasonably connected with the organisation, administration, delivery, safety, security, legal compliance, documentation, protection and proper operation of GBW, including disclosure to WESIO’s directors, employees, authorised representatives, contractors, professional advisers, venues, service providers, partners, sponsors, security services, public authorities or other relevant persons where appropriate.

4. Meetings, business matching and applications
4.1. Information exchanged in applications, meetings, business matching, startup presentations, investor discussions, sponsorship discussions, partnership discussions or closed sessions must be treated as confidential unless it is clearly public or the relevant disclosing party agrees otherwise.

4.2. No person may record, photograph, copy, download, distribute or publish non-public presentations, discussions, meetings, materials or communications unless expressly authorised by WESIO or by the person entitled to authorise such use.

5. Media and public communications
5.1. This Policy does not restrict authorised public reporting, photography, filming, promotion or publication of GBW where permitted by applicable GBW documents and applicable law.

5.2. No person may disclose confidential information, private discussions, non-public commercial terms, personal contact details, restricted materials, security information or information relating to children or youth participants through media, social media, publications or public statements without proper authorisation.

6. Legal disclosure
6.1. If disclosure of confidential information is required by law, court order, regulator or public authority, the person required to disclose it must, where legally permitted, give prior notice to WESIO or the relevant disclosing party and limit the disclosure to what is legally required.

7. Breach and protective measures
7.1. A breach of this Policy may result in refusal, restriction, suspension or termination of participation, access, services, meetings, benefits or other GBW-related opportunities, without refund where permitted by applicable GBW documents.

7.2. WESIO may take any reasonable action necessary to protect WESIO, GBW, Clients, Participants, children, youth participants, sponsors, partners, confidential information, rights, reputation and lawful interests.

8. Continuing effect, updates and language
8.1. The obligations under this Policy continue after the end of GBW or the end of the relevant person’s participation for as long as the relevant information remains confidential.

8.2. WESIO may update this Policy by publishing a new version on the official GBW website or otherwise making it available through an official WESIO channel.

8.3. The English version of this Policy is the primary legal version. Any translation is provided for convenience only unless WESIO expressly approves it as legally binding.
